How To Jump Higher With These Three Easy Tips

If you are serious about sports then you already know that one of the most important things is to increase your vertical jump. If you do not have a high vertical jump then the chances of you actually being able to out beat your opponents are very slim. If you are looking to jump as high as possible then it is a good thing you are here today reading this article. By the time you are done reading this you will know exactly what you need to do to jump higher.

1-Know why you are doing what you are doing

It is one thing for you to know what to do to increase your jumping ability, but it is another thing to actually know why you are doing what you are doing. I want to teach you why you are going to be doing certain things. How much force you can apply to the ground is the most important thing for both the vertical jump and running fast. The more force you apply the higher you will be able to jump. All you have to do is follow the two things I will mention below and you will be on your way to applying more force to the ground in no time.

2-Squat with heavy weight

If you have ever heard that squatting will actually slow you down and prevent your from jumping high then you have heard one of the biggest lies. The truth is squatting will help you apply more force to the ground faster than any other exercise. A good way to think about it is like this, if you have a person who weighs 150 pounds and can squat 135 pounds, he is applying 135 pounds of force to the ground. Now take that same person and train him until he is squatting 225. If he has the same body weight he is able to apply much more force to the ground.

3-Plyometrics

Plyometrics are another great way to apply force to the ground because they help with the speed of the muscles. Some great plyometric exercises include depth jumps and box jumps.
